Al Mughsayl

My final days in Oman were approaching. My very close friend and I decided we both had to visit the southern province of Dhofar. September happened to be the perfect time to visit the city of Salalah as it is right before the end of Khareef (monsoon) season which takes place from July to September.

Salalah is a 9 hour drive from Muscat or a 30 minute plane ride.

My friend and I booked  our round trip with Oman Airways which cost us a total of 70 rials (under 200 USD at the time). Our stay was two days long but luckily we were able to explore a majority of the major attractions of the city.

To my surprise Salalah had an abundance of natural, cultural and historical beauty, much more than I could have imagined.

Photographed above is Mughsayl beach. What makes this beach unique to many others is it’s blowholes. Water shoots up out of holes in the rocks near the beach. The dramatic contrast between the dark rocks of the mountains and the light blue waters also makes this beach special.

Stay tuned, I’ll be discussing my Salalah trip in further details.
